Happy Veterinary Technician Week!
Kate Schulte deeply cares about her patients, is detail orientated, and compassionate. She is very knowledgeable about patient care and pet behavior, and has a way of calming her patients. She truly makes every effort to create a no-fear experience for the pet and owner. She is also an out of the box thinker and brings new ideas to the table every day. When she is presented with a relative beginner level staff of 10 people, she has embarrassed the challenges of mentoring and training head-on. She treats them like her work family and personally is vested in there growth and success. Kate is a great team leader! I think she is truly an MVP!
This is Maegan Lezotte! She is an LVT and graduated from Wayne County Community College Veterinary Technology Program. She has been employed at GVH since August of 2006. Maegan is our Team Leader responsible for keeping the technical team on track. Maegan creates the schedule, facilitates the monthly technicians’ meetings, mentors and teaches new assistants/technicians and helps to implement new protocols. Maegan is an important team member always trying her best to make sure the staff is successful. She has a great ear for listening and is well respected by the doctors and staff. She has a special interest in obedience training and dental. Thank you for everything you do to keep GVH moving along smoothly Maegan, happy National Veterinary Technicians Week.
Debbie Rains, LVT (middle) is the epitome of what it means to be a hardworking, compassionate, and extremely skilled veterinary technician. She was the first employee hired by the original owner of Morrison Animal Hospital, Dr. Morrison, and is a cherished member of our work family. She is one of the strongest women I know and is always the first to step up and handle any task that needs to be done around the clinic with tireless energy. More importantly, she has a heart of gold for every creature, from the neonate wildlife she fosters to the geriatric patients she remembers and tends to throughout their lifetime. She has the endless patience to mentor me and countless other aspiring veterinarians and veterinary technicians, and always seems to know just what to say to encourage us and help us to understand or improve the skills she so expertly teaches us. Deb is an inspiration to everyone in the veterinary field and deserves praise and recognition this week, and every week, of the year.
Cherie Berry, LVT (right) has the type of personality that lights up a room and instantly makes one feel calmer. Her technical skills are impeccable, but her compassion, attention to detail, and the care she shows each of her patients, clients, and every other person she encounters, is what make her an outstanding veterinary technician. She takes it upon herself to coordinate all the girls’ nights out, celebrations, and special lunches that Morrison Animal Hospital is famous for. She goes above and beyond to recognize each member of the team and to make everyone feel included. Beyond that, Cherie is one of the biggest champions of myself and the many other aspiring veterinarians and veterinary technicians that work in the clinic. She is always happy to hear about our goals, triumphs, and struggles as we pursue our educations, and is always there to teach and support us along the way. Cherie is a wonderful asset to the veterinary field, and our clinic would not be what it is without her.
